Minimal Buildup after 5+ Months on the Pier

Eco-Clad Enthusiast – Mike Martus

Mike Martus, a retired U.S Navy Captain had his 50′ Nordhavn painted with Eco-Clad in May of 2011 at Washburn’s Boatyard in Solomons, MD. Our reporter, taking a time out from enjoying blue crabs along the Chesapeake, recently caught up with Mike and his wife Maria as they prepared for another season of cruising. Last summer they cruised the East Coast from the Chesapeake to Southwest Harbor Maine. The boat “Liberty Call,” was hauled out in April of this year and Mike reported “There was minimal buildup on the bottom after having spent the last 5 plus months alongside the pier, practically no barnacles, all it took to clean the bottom was a pressure wash.” Mike went on to say “Based on what we saw both Luke Frey of Washburn’s and I think that the bottom will be good for at least one more year.” Mike can be reached at mfm.mkm@verizon.net
