No Barnacles!
“I went sailing last Saturday: winds 18 to 30 kt, seas 3′ to 6′, a rather boisterous day to say the least! I had my head sail reefed down to 3/4′s out, main sail had a double reef in it and my mizzen was stowed. With the wind held at 55 degrees off the bow, and reaching about as close as I could in those conditions, I was making an astounding 7.5 to 8.2 SOG with a boat speed of 9 to 12 kts! When I tacked I could not believe just how fast the boat accelerated back up to those speeds, this was not motorsailing, just sails alone!
